Play as the main protagonist named Cless Alvein who one day when out boar hunting hears the town alarm bells. When they rush back they find the town of Totus in ruin, with most of the inhabitants killed. They travel to Cless' uncle in Euclid in order to find some safe haven. The following night, however, Cless is captured by Malice, the guy that attacked Totus, and thrown into jail. Barely escaping the jaws of faith and rescuing Mint in the process, they end up in with Tornix D. Morrison who can shed some more light on the situation. With this in mind, they chase after Malice in order to get revenge. However, things are nearly as simple as they appear, with an ancient evil known as Dhaos sleeping in a long sealed tomb awaiting his ressurrection.

While this is a mostly traditional JRPG, it differs vastly from others in the genre with its combat system. Known as the Linear Motion Battle system, fighting takes place on a side-scrolling plane akin to that of fighting games. Players battle with a party of characters, however those aren't controlled directly. The AI can help control them while they are controlling the main character. The game was released on a multitude of platforms, with Playstation being the ultimate version. This edition added an intro, more detailed animations and even shifted some of the layouts and equipment in the game.
