Available for purchaseIn the land of Aranna, Evil Krugs are on the rise, destroying the Kingdom of Ehb, piece by piece. That's including your farm, friends and family. As something inside you dies, something else awakens. You, a lowly peasant, take up your trusty pitchfork and start a journey to Stonebridge to get help and clobbingering monsters along the way, only to discover that something much more sinister is at work than lowly Krugs.
Dungeon Siege is a hack 'n slash RPG that shares many resemblances to Diablo. Action happens in real-time in a vast 3D fantasy world spanning a wide variety of biomes. From forest and grass lands, to dungeons, deserts and wintery areas. Unlike Diablo however, you may have a party of up to eight companions, quite uncommon for an RPG. Pack-mules can also be purchased to off-load adventurers with alot of loot, but takes up one of the slots for party members. The single player game features nine chapters, while the multiplayer spans one chapter over two acts and takes place in an entire different part of Aranna, called the Utreaen Peninsula. Characters can be transferred from a single-player mode to multiplayer, but not the other way around.
Another difference is how character progression works. Here, characters turn into a classification depending on what weapons and spells they use. Upon use, these level up and after a number of level-up thresholds, a new title is acquired. Overall, there's melee, ranged, nature and combat magic as the main offensive schools. Due to the fact that most enemies do not respawn in the single player campaign, some titles are impossible to aquire (as there aren't enough monsters to level up with). In general, any character can become use any skill, but some companions you meet will already have set skills proficiency, incentivizing using these and balancing your party.
