A fantasy-themed collectible card game that combines strategic gameplay with elements of role-playing. The story follows the rise of the Etherlords in a world where magic and power intertwine. The game features four factions that vie for control across two selectable campaigns; the Kinet and Vitals and the Chaot and Synths. Depending on which campaign you choose, the levels and story differs. However, both ultimately lead up to a final confrontation with the White Lord - the supreme being who controls all Ether.
Gameplay is viewed from a top-down strategic perspective, similar to Heroes of Might and Magic, with different heroes that you navigate around the map to secure resources and fight off enemies. Each hero has a deck of magical cards, each representing spells, creatures, and other abilities. These can be changed and expanded upon by finding shops on the map and are used to summon creatures, cast spells, and engage in battles against both AI-controlled opponents and other players. The game features over 300 spells, 64 heroes across the four different races and also multiplayer, either locally (LAN) or the Internet.
