For å korte ned på ventetiden til HL2 har nå Valve tilgjengeliggjort CounterStrike Source gjennom Steam. Igjennom Steam, som vi alle både hater og elsker, kan man nå kjøpe spillet og umiddelbart etterpå hente det ned for spilling. Forøvrig er også HL2, bundlet med ulike Valve produkter, lagt ut for salg gjennom Steam slik at de er tilgjengelig dagen de blir lansert. Selve HL2 sammen med Counterstrike Source kan du få kjøpt for skarve 360,-.
